About

drupalMAO [droo-puhl-maow]

You can trace the origins of this show back to a high school computer lab in central Pennsylvania, circa 1996. "Wow man, you're hacking!" These four words started it all, and the personality of each individual still remains the same. The introduction of these two young, brilliant and very mischievous geeks would set off a chain reaction that would perpetuate them both into a world of chaos, community, hilarity and ultimately drupalMAO.

The drupalMAO format is nothing new, nor did it intend to be. Many intoxicating evenings were spent watching Diggnation, where we connected with the people on screen. We understood what they were talking about, why it was important, and laughed at jokes that only a true geek would understand. At this point we were deeply involved with the Drupal community; a community that has been so generous with sharing what they know and has guided us to be the skilled developers we are today. It was our turn to give something back to the community, thus the inception of drupalMAO.

drupalMAO has become an outlet for us to inform you, your colleagues, and your friends about things that are happening in the Drupal community. Since we digest as much of the Drupal ecosystem that we can possibly get our hands on, we've taken up the task of filtering out the most relevant information for you as well as introducing you to new features, modules, techniques and gossip. After a few episodes we decided to expand our format to include co-hosts and interviews giving us an opportunity to introduce you to some familiar names and faces you will see as you work within the Drupal ecosystem.

We are very fortunate to have such talented individuals, many among whom we're lucky enough to be called friends, working on the best Open Source Content Management Framework in the world; Drupal.

Jerad Bitner (sirkitree)

Jerad has worked with Drupal since the days of the 4.6 to 4.7 upgrade nightmare. Along the way he's had the opportunity to work with some of the best names in the business which accelerated his learning at break-neck speed. Today he lives in San Francisco working for himself as the Chief Technology Officer for Rapid Waters Development.
More about Jerad can be read about on his personal blog, his technical blog or by following his Twitter feed.

David Burns (davexoxide)

Dave has worked with web technologies since the early days of GeoCities. Does he dare associate himself with such a monstrosity?... Fortunately it did get the wheels spinning. Upon graduating high school, Dave was introduced to Flash, PHP, and CSS. From there the tortured chamber of HTML became a blank canvas to change dynamically with color and content. At this time it was just a hobby and he needed to grow-up and get a career.

Dave spent a few years building a career in business, going to boring classes and meaningless jobs, but the moment he realized web development was a great fulfilling career everything changed. He enjoyed his work, was successful at what he was doing, and met people that he came to understand and respect. Soon afterwards Dave found the Drupal community and has been handing out the kool-aid ever since.
