Sadly Ubercart for D6 just wasn't quite there when we started the site. Since it was built and beta-launched a while ago we just didn't have a choice.

Plus, it's not like we aren't working to help/promote Ubercart in general ( see the list of D5 to D6 migration sponsors for example ;) )
